WILLARD F. BAER

Willard F. Baer, 95, of Hunlock Creek, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 in Bonham Nursing Center, Stillwater.

Born in Hunlock Creek, he was the son of the late Lester William and Gertrude Haas Baer and served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II.  Willard was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and was a member of Black Walnut American Legion, Post 510.  He was also a member of Reyburn Bible Church and a 60 year member of the Shickshinny Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and attending church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Jane Phillips Baer and siblings, identical twin brother, William Baer, Evelyn Davenport and Glen Baer.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cathy Ann Stitzer and her husband, Thomas of Dallas, PA, Susan Thomas and her husband, John of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Travis Thomas and Thomas J. Stitzer; brother, Marvin Baer of Hunlock Creek; nieces and nephews.

Private Family Funeral Service will be held from the Piatt Funeral Home, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek.  Interment will follow, with Military Honors, in Sorber Cemetery.
