Richard L. Davis

Richard L. Davis, of Hunlock Creek, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital with family by his side.

Born in Kingston, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Diamond Davis and attended Northwest High School. He retired from PPL in December of 2002 and was a member of the Administrative Board and Trustee of Hunlock Creek United Methodist Church. He was the Head of the Hunlock Township Emergency Management.

Richard was the Hunlock Township Supervisor for 40 years; was involved with the Hunlock Creek and Northwest Little League for over 20 years; involved with the Hunlock Creek Fire Department for many years and in 2021 the Richard L. Davis Recreational Park was dedicated to Rich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Glen "Chip" Davis.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, with whom he would have celebrated 59 years this July 24, Nola Flynn Davis; children Melissa Mozonkey and her husband Nicholas of Shickshinny, Marcia Morris and her husband Jeffrey of Hunlock Creek, Chad Davis and his wife Trish of Shickshinny, Curt Davis of Hunlock Creek; seven grandchildren Kayla Bierbach and her husband Raymond, Taylor Mazonkey, Jeffrey Morris, Austin Mazonkey and his wife, Bryanna, Gavin Davis, Ashlyn Davis, Addison Davis; great grandchildren Brynley Bierbach, Makenna Bierbach, Easton Mazonkey.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek with Pastor McGee officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Friday, June 28 from 4 to 7 pm and Saturday morning from 10:00m am until time of service at the funeral home.
