Maryann Farber

Maryann Farber, 86, of Hunlock Creek, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 16, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Born February 17, 1940, in Portage, Pennsylvania, but grew up in Lilly, she was the daughter of the late Bolick and Mary Wilk. Maryann was a graduate of Lilly-Washington High School. A woman of great faith, she was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hunlock Creek.

Maryann cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, playing bingo and Scrabble, scrapbooking, and embroidery. Her greatest joy was the love and time she shared with her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Farber.

Maryann is survived by her children: Teresa McBryan of Hunlock Creek; James (Pamela) Farber of Sweet Valley; Elizabeth (Carl) Stemrich of Weippe, Idaho; Larry (Tanya) Farber of Hunlock Creek; and Lorraine (James) Eveler of Harlem, Pennsylvania.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ian, Sara, Mark, Marebeth and Elizabeth Stemrich, Zebulon Farber, Alex, and Emma Rose Eveler; great-granddaughter, Samantha Dothan; siblings, Thomas Wilk of Florida, Rosemary of Delaware, Beatrice Zurlilla of Altoona, and Elaine Rhawn of Pittsburgh; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Hunlock Creek. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Hunlock Creek.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.

Maryann will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
