MARY GRACE KNAPICH Obituary

 

Mary “Grace” Knapich, of New Freedom, PA; formerly of Harveyville, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in York Hospital.

 

Born in Englewood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Mary DiMaggio and was a graduate of Bergenfield High School, NJ, Class of 1949.  Grace earned her bachelor’s and master’s Degrees from Montclair State University, NJ.  Grace worked as a math and science instructor at Misericordia University, Dallas and was a devoted farmers wife.  She was a faithful member of St. Martha's Catholic Church, Stillwater and took great joy in starting and directing the CCD Program for over 25 years.  Grace loved helping out her daughter’s business, MgM Dance Studio, whenever she could for 28 years and excelled at creating videos for social media and scrapbooks for her family.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Alois Knapich and sister Fran Greaves.

 

Left to adore her memory is her cherished daughter, Mary Mock and her husband, John of New Freedom, PA; grandchildren, Alexander, Cory, Brady (wife Mary) and Nadia Mock and great grandson Colton Mock.  She is also survived by siblings, Frank DiMaggio and his wife, Ernestine,  Rose Dempewolf, JoAnne Draper and her husband Allan, Joseph DiMaggio and his wife Kathie,  brother-in-law Josiah Greaves as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Martha's Church, Holy Spirit Parish,  260 Bonnieville Rd. Stillwater, 17878.

 

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Tuesday, January 28, 2025  from 4 to 6 pm at the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, PA.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Rescue Inc of New Freedom PA.
