LENORE SWITHERS

Lenore Swithers, 89, of Highland Mills, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home with her family.

Born in Hunlock Creek, she was the daughter of the late Winfield and Ruth Dodson Bierly and graduated from Shickshinny High School and Nesbitt Nursing School. Lenore worked as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at St. Luke's Hospital and as a school nurse teacher in Newburgh, NY. Lenore was an avid reader, and she and  her husband, traveled extensively. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her greatest joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert R. Swithers and brother, Graydon Bierly.

Lenore is survived by her children, Diane Swithers; Albert R. Swithers, Jr and his wife, Karen; Nanette Arrao and her husband, Scott; Brenda Meisel and her husband, Michael; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her sister Sharon Kivler.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 12:00 noon from the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek. Interment will be held in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Wednesday, from 11:00 am until time of service.
