LAWRENCE SHAW Obituary

Lawrence M. Shaw, Sr., 94, of Shickshinny, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

 

Born in Shickshinny, he was the son of the late Leslie and Rena Cragle Shaw and was a graduate of Shickshinny High School.  Lawrence worked for Acme Markets in Forty Fort in the warehouse, prior to retirement.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with family, four wheeling and snowmobiling. He was a member of Sweet Valley Church of Christ; Nanticoke Lodge 332 and the National Camping Travelers Association.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Reta J. Price Shaw, siblings, Doris Roeshen, Kenny Shaw, Keith Shaw, Shirley Molloy and Muriel Whitebread.

 

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Debra Stempien and her husband, Joseph; Lawrence Shaw Jr.; grandchildren, Jill and Adam Shaw, Laura and Joseph Stempien; great grandchildren, Nora Stempien and Isaac Franklin; brother, Carl Shaw; sister-in-law, Sandy Shaw and many nieces and nephews.


Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 12:00 noon from the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Drive, Hunlock Creek with interment in Bloomingdale Cemetery.


Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
