Joseph Belinsky

Joseph C. Belinsky, Jr., 74, of Shickshinny, passed away on March 22, 2026 at Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton, after a brief illness.

Born on October 31, 1951, in Berwick, he was the son of the late Joseph C. Belinsky, Sr. and Susan (Tetick) Belinsky.

Joe was a 1969 graduate of Berwick High School. He began his working career with Kawneer Company in Bloomsburg, followed by Berwick Forge and Fabricating, and later worked for Mesko Glass Company, where he spent many years.

Joe lived a simple life centered around family, friends, and the things he loved most. He especially enjoyed starting his mornings with a cup of coffee alongside his daughter and “coffee buddy,” April.  In earlier years, he spent times golfing, hunting, camping, and fishing with family and friends, and was a proud member of the Berwick Archery Club.

He was an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles, and also enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Joe had a great sense of humor and loved joking with those around him. In his downtime, he could often be found watching the news, sports or a good horror movie, listening to oldies music, or heading out for bingo nights and casino trips. He also looked forward to his annual vacations to Florida.

Joe will be remembered for his light humor, his love of family, and the many simple moments he shared with those closest to him.

Joe is survived by his former wife, Diane (Cragle) Belinsky; his beloved daughter, April Marie; his sisters, Cynthia S. Reinard of Danville and Kimberly A. Belinsky of North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements under the direction of Piatt Funeral & Cremation, Hunlock Creek.
