Jorge Z. Fernandez

Jorge Z. Fernandez, 61, of Hunlock Creek, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Born in Cuba, he was the son of the late Armelio Fernandez and Maria Tamayo and step mother Graciela Fernandez. Jorge was a graduate of Elizabeth High School and worked as an operations manager for Simmons Bedding for over 40 years. He loved spending time with family, wood-working, fishing, and creating a home with his wife. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee Fernandez; daughter Nicole Marsh and her husband Cody of SC; son, Zach Fernandez of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Chase and Ava Marsh; siblings, Mel Fernandez of NJ; Maria Fernandez of FL and Anna Fernandez of NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 6:00 pm from the Piatt funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Rd. Hunlock Creek with Rev. Philbert Takyi-Nketiah officiating. Friends are invited to join the family from 4 pm until time of service.
