JoAnn P. Blaine

JoAnn P. Blaine, 59, of Hunlock Creek, passed away at home, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, after a battle with cancer.

Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Marie Wanyo Gensel and was a graduate of Nanticoke High School. JoAnn was the Hunlock Township tax collector for 19 years, a job she truly loved where she enjoyed meeting all the people. She loved spending time with her family; especially at their home in upstate New York and being surrounded by her cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 37 years Tracy Blaine; sons Tracy Blaine Jr and his wife Sallyann of Camp Hill, Joshua Blaine and his wife Amy of Albany, NY; sister Karen Pope and her husband Jim of Nanticoke; numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm from the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek.
