BETTY SCOTT

Betty June Scott, 95, of Shickshinny, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at home.

Born in Shickshinny, May 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Luella Sorber and was a graduate of Shickshinny High School.  Betty was a member of Reyburn Bible Church, which she attended since she was 2 weeks old.  She was the caretaker for the Sorber Cemetery for many years; enjoyed going on car rides and going with her friends to local restaurants.  Betty loved family gatherings on her back porch; summer family picnics and hosting the family Christmas Party every year.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her loving husband of 49 years, Jack Scott; sister Janice Swank and son Barry Scott.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Rickey Scott and his wife Pamela, William Scott and his wife Jacqueline, Jody Scott and his wife Jamie; nephew Alquin Swank and his wife Anita; all of Reyburn. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  

A graveside funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family in Sorber Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Piatt Funeral and Cremation, Hunlock Creek.
