Betty Lois Rood Knorr
March 6, 1930 – October 1, 2025
Betty Lois Rood Knorr, 95, of Kingston, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of October 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 6, 1930, to the late Alfred Martin and Helen Dale Rood, Betty met the love of her life, Robert Knorr, in 1949. They married later that year, beginning a 75-year relationship filled with love and devotion. Together, they raised two daughters, Dale and Donna. Betty worked as a pharmacy technician for 36 years at Rea and Derick, where her dedication to her work was well-known.
A longtime member of Dorranceton United Methodist Church, Betty was deeply committed to her faith and volunteered with numerous fundraisers and charity events, always eager to lend a hand to those in need.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings and great-grandson. She is survived by her beloved husband; their daughters; her son-in-law; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Saturday, October 4rd, 2025 with the viewing at 11:30am - 1:30pm and funeral to follow at Dorranceton United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Betty’s life. Burial will follow at Bloomingdale Cemetery in Hunlock Creek. A dinner will be served at the church after the interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dorranceton United Methodist Church, in honor of Betty’s lifelong commitment to service and community.
