Alvin “Al” Edmond Sitler Jr., of Shickshinny, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Born in Berwick on March 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Alvin E. Sitler Sr. and Catherine I. Hough Sitler.
Al was a graduate of Berwick High School and continued his education by earning an associate degree from Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves before beginning a career as an insulation installer. Throughout the years, he worked at numerous industrial locations, including the Berwick Power Plant, where he was involved in the removal of asbestos and the installation of new insulation, helping to create safer environments for countless individuals.
Known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature, Al was never one to shy away from hard work. He took great pride in maintaining his home and yard, often working side by side with his beloved wife, Carol Ann. A true handyman, he could always be found fixing, building, or improving something around the house.
Al had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. He also treasured life's simpler moments, particularly taking peaceful drives with Carol Ann, often choosing the scenic route home so they could stop for a cup of coffee and a donut along the way. Those quiet outings together became some of his favorite pastimes.
Above all, Al was a man who would do anything for those he loved. His kindness, willingness to lend a helping hand, and genuine care for others earned him the respect and affection of many throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann Piacente Sitler; his daughters, Amy Drumheller and Stacy Baez; stepchildren, Bill, Tony, Russ, Judine and Jim; his grandchildren; and his siblings, Debbie, Donna, and James Sitler.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
